Field trip schedule: (tentative)

Week 1:

Field trip to Lovett Memorial Library to research the question, 'Who Am I?" (transportation: septa bus)

 

Week 2: "Cityscape"

Field trip to Center City on Double Decker bus

(transportation: septa bus & regional rail)

 

Week 3: "The Process of Creating"

Field trip to Fabric Workshop and Museum

(transportation: septa bus & regional rail)

 

Week 4: "Backyard Nature"

Field trip to Bartram’s Garden for inspiration exploring nature (transportation: yellow bus)

 

Week 5: "Artmaking and Storytelling"

Field trip to Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

(transportation: yellow bus)

 

Week 7: "I Love Me"

Field trip to Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City (transportation: yellow bus)

 

What else to know:

- No meals given, small snacks and beverages are provided. Child may bring a packed lunch to store in refrigerator and warm up in the microwave.

 

- 15% of your paid tuition will be refunded if you withdraw at least one week before the first class meeting. After that time, no refunds will be given.  

 

- Family & Friends Class Presentation Day - July 25 & August 24th

 

-Tuition installments available. (For 9-week campers only)

 

- All payments and registration must be in by June 1st, 2019 whether paying for full tuition or per week.

 

- YOUR CHILD WILL ONLY PARTICIPANT IN THE MANNEQUIN PROJECT IF THEY COME TO CAMP DURING WEEK 6 THROUGH WEEK 9. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE HOME THEIR GARMENTS AFTER CAMP IS OVER.

Objective

Create art projects from field trip experience

 

Week 6 - Week 9

To develop a connection between fashion, nature and self image. Students will construct garments to dress their life-sized mannequins using items found in nature and culture to define who they are.
